    Composite Siding Styles We Install

Composite siding comes in a variety of profiles and textures to match your vision with your home’s architecture. Composite wood siding combines the natural look of wood with enhanced resistance to elevated humidity and temperature fluctuations, which are distinctive of The Bay State.

    Lap siding
    Lap siding
Everlast composite siding is a timeless classic, mainly thanks to its wood-grain texture and diverse color palette. This horizontal lap profile (available from Everlast and LP SmartSide) suits colonial and Cape Cod-style homes across Massachusetts.
    Board and batten siding
    Board and batten siding
Explanation: Vertical board-and-batten style. Use the secondary keyword ‘composite board and batten siding’. Growing in popularity for farmhouse and modern-traditional Massachusetts homes. Available through TruExterior and LP SmartSide. Composite board-and-batten siding creates a distinct vertical rhythm on the exterior and blends well with modern New England architecture. Systems by TruExterior and LP SmartSide provide a sleek, neat finish for accent facades, gables, and full-house siding.
    Composite shake siding
    Composite shake siding
Composite shake siding mimics the texture of real cedar while preventing rot, warping, and maintenance hassles. Thanks to the material’s high moisture resistance, composite cedar shake siding is well-suited to the conditions of coastal areas of Massachusetts. Composite shake siding emphasizes and preserves the signature look of New England’s traditional architecture.
    Shiplap and panel siding
    Shiplap and panel siding
Large-format exterior siding panels are often used to give modern facades a smooth, clean finish by emphasizing symmetrical architectural lines and minimalist aesthetics. TruExterior offers panel systems that work well in transitional and modern residential projects.
    Soffit and trim
    Soffit and trim
Matching soffit and trim profiles complete the siding system and maintain the uniform geometry and color consistency of the siding. Using components from a single manufacturer, such as Everlast or LP SmartSide, ensures color stability and predictable material performance under varying weather conditions.
    Composite cladding accent panels
    Composite cladding accent panels
Explanation: Use ‘composite cladding siding’ naturally. Accent cladding for gables, dormers, or feature walls. Mention enhanced-grain woodlike textures in popular finishes (weathered oak, charcoal gray, etc.) as seen in product options available through installers. Composite cladding siding forms the exterior’s character and organically accentuates cladding for gables, dormers, entryways, and feature walls. Popular finishes such as weathered oak or charcoal gray (as seen in our product options) add depth and a natural look to the building’s exterior. The option owes its popularity to enhanced-grain textures.
    Properties
    Properties We Side Across Massachusetts

From historic single-family homes to multi-unit residential communities, Plum ProExteriors handles all kinds of residential properties throughout Massachusetts. When selecting a siding system, we factor in the building’s architecture, moisture exposure, the state of the exterior, maintenance requirements, and specific local climate conditions. Thus, our professionals ensure that the siding remains stable and visually cohesive for many years.

    Single-family homes
    Single-family homes
Single-family homes remain the most common project type for full re-siding in Massachusetts, especially when it comes to Colonial, Cape Cod, ranch-style, and Victorian-era homes. Replicating the intricate details characteristic of Massachusetts’ historic and private homes, composite siding allows for precision when working with complex geometries (e.g., decorative cornices, gables, bay windows, and narrow joints). For older private homes, it is essential to preserve the proportions and character of the exterior without overloading it with modern materials. That is why we select profiles and textures that blend naturally into the architecture of New England homes and blend the edges between the original and the new architectural elements.
    Multi-family and condos
    Multi-family and condos
Engineered siding optimizes the price and maintenance costs for two-family, three-decker, and condo association projects. In each of these cases, the durability of the siding system directly affects building maintenance costs. Engineered siding minimizes the need for regular (re)painting, spot repairs, and replacement of damaged sections, which is of value to property managers and association boards alike. Plum ProExteriors also handles phased renovation projects and bulk siding upgrades for multi-unit properties, where ensuring a consistent appearance across all sections of the building is critical. For such large-scale siding projects, we offer structured planning, color coordination, and optimized pricing.
    Historic and older homes
    Historic and older homes
Massachusetts has one of the highest concentrations of historic homes in all of New England. It is important not to compromise the architectural authenticity of the home during exterior renovations. Engineered wood siding helps replicate the traditional wood profiles characteristic of older facades. Composite cedar shake siding, which is a subset thereof, improves the building’s resistance to moisture, seasonal expansion, and freeze-thaw cycles. Composite cedar shake siding preserves the classic look of historic facades without the need for regular painting, wood preservation, or replacement of damaged shingles. For homes in historic districts, we consider local architectural guidelines and select materials that meet the requirements for texture, profile, and the overall appearance of the exterior. unique advantages
Why Choose Composite Siding for Your Home

Composite siding is widely considered one of the most practical options for residential homes thanks to its combination of durability, consistency of shapes and textures, and minimal maintenance requirements. Plum ProExteriors guides Massachusetts homeowners through selecting the exterior solutions tailored to the real-world climatic challenges of New England (from coastal humidity to winter’s freeze-thaw cycles).

    Engineered for New England weather
    Engineered for New England weather

Engineered wood siding has proven itself compatible with high humidity, sudden temperature fluctuations, and strong winds. Synthetic wood siding does not absorb moisture the way natural wood does; hence, it is more resistant to rot and warping. Even after many freeze-thaw cycles, engineered siding is still capable of protecting the facade and ensuring its stability.

Authentic wood look without the upkeep
Authentic wood look without the upkeep

Modern composite siding systems accurately replicate the texture of cedar siding and the natural wood grain, even without regular painting, staining, or the application of protective coatings. Thanks to their color stability, the exterior retains its uniform appearance for longer, even on south-facing elevations that are constantly exposed to intense sunlight. For open residential areas and homes located in coastal regions, this technology is a game-changer, since UV exposure and moisture typically accelerate the fading of traditional exterior materials.

Composite vs vinyl: A clear upgrade
Composite vs vinyl: A clear upgrade

Composite siding vs. vinyl is a comparison wherein composite materials usually come out on top because of more lifelike texture, higher material density, and greater resistance to physical damage. Unlike thin vinyl panels, composite siding is less prone to denting, warping, and noticeable thermal expansion. Besides, composite systems retain their color vibrancy longer and do not have that characteristic plastic appearance often seen on older vinyl facades.

    Competitive and transparent pricing
    Competitive and transparent pricing

Explanation: Use ‘composite siding cost’ naturally. Note that composite siding costs more than vinyl upfront but less than fiber cement or real wood over a 20-year horizon when maintenance is factored in. Link to the siding installation cost page. Composite siding cost is higher than that of basic vinyl siding at the beginning of a project, but in the long run, the maintenance costs for the exterior are significantly lower. Homeowners are less likely to need to repaint or replace damaged sections or make repairs due to moisture buildup. In many cases, composite siding also proves to be a more cost-effective option than natural wood or fiber cement siding when considering the total cost over a 20-year lifespan. You can learn more about pricing factors on our siding installation cost page.

    Backed by manufacturer warranties
    Backed by manufacturer warranties

Everlast composite siding, TruExterior, and LP SmartSide come with long-term manufacturer warranties, which may include transferable limited coverage ranging from 25 to 50 years, depending on the product. This level of warranty protection gives confidence in the investment, which is particularly important for homeowners planning long-term exterior upgrades or considering their home’s future resale value.

    Certified local installers
    Certified local installers

A local composite siding installer with manufacturer certification ensures proper installation and compliance with all technical requirements integral to maintaining warranty coverage. Plum ProExteriors operates as an authorized installer for leading siding brands and performs installations in accordance with the manufacturers’ current installation specifications. Massachusetts licensing and experience with local building conditions allow the team to account for the specifics of facade ventilation, moisture management, and the thermal behavior of materials as early as the siding system design phase.

We had a great experience with Plum Pro overall. Yuk was very professional and well-organized while working with us on a proposal and contract to fix our deck after it was severely damaged by a fallen tree. He set us up with an accelerated timeline to help us coordinate this project with some of our other repairs, and aside from some weather delays stuck to it pretty well overall.

We could not have asked for a better team than Plum ProExteriors for our siding and window project. From start to finish, the process went smoothly. At our initial meeting, Yuk did a great job of explaining all of the different options available for our project. He then provided us with a very detailed estimate that gave us the confidence that there would not be any hidden/surprise costs/fees, which there were not. Once the contract was signed, Yuk did a great job of communicating when the project would start.

Yuk and the crew at Plum ProExteriors did an excellent job installing 7 Pella Architectural double-hung windows in my 1911 Dutch Colonial. Prior to providing a proposal, Yuk measured not once but twice to ensure the windows fit perfectly. Two of three windows were part of a bay window where the frames were no longer perfectly square. None the less, the crew got the windows to fit without issue. They finished with caulking any gaps inside and out for all the windows and finished the job in one day. The crew was clean and neat and even took away the old storm window frames. I already have received compliments on how well the windows look. Their price was fair and I would definitely hire Plum ProExteriors again. Thanks guys!

Yuk is definitely an A+. I felt very comfortable with him and trusted throughout the entire process. We ran into a few issues along the way and that’s to be expected, but Yuk was always available and made good on his promises. If I had to criticize one thing it would be that he doesn’t have a great carpenter for interior finish work, but in fairness he did make me aware that this was not something his crew normally does. Love the end product and the neighbors do too!

We have a full house of windows to replace and we are so happy we found Yuk thanks to a recommendation on a local Facebook group. Yuk quoted the entire job and was transparent in his pricing. Yuk was patient walking us through the process and updating quotes when we decided to start only with the largest and least efficient windows.

I hired Plum ProExteriors based on the quality of work I saw when I came across a renovation project they were doing in the area. I had roof, windows, doors, siding and decking done.I was very impressed with the depth of knowledge Yuk has in his trade. Communication was excellent. He kept me updated on the progress when I wasn’t there. Yuk and his crew worked efficiently and more importantly the quality of work was exceptional.
