    Siding Installation, Replacement, and Repair

Siding Installation, Replacement, and Repair in Wellesley

Our siding installation in Wellesley covers the whole job – tear-off, sheathing checks, moisture barrier, flashing, and clean finish carpentry. We also handle smaller repairs and seasonal upkeep, so your walls stay sealed through New England winters.

    New siding installation

    New siding installation

For additions, new builds, and homes going from bare walls to a finished exterior, we set the layers that matter: weather-resistive barrier, correct flashing at windows and rooflines, and proper fastening with room for seasonal movement.
    Full siding replacement

    Full siding replacement

We strip the old clapboard to the sheathing and fix what we find – rot, soft framing, failed flashing, or damaged trim – before new siding goes up. See our work on siding for historic Wellesley homes.
    Siding painting

    Siding painting

Faded colors, peeling paint, and weather-worn siding can make a home look tired and leave the exterior less protected from the elements. We prepare the surface, repair minor issues, and apply durable exterior coatings that help protect the siding for years to come.
    Siding Material
Choosing the Right Siding Material for Your Wellesley Home

The right siding in Wellesley has to handle freeze-thaw cycles, wind-driven rain, and long humid summers. Here’s how the materials we install compare on durability, upkeep, and how they hold up decade after decade on a New England exterior.

    Vinyl
    Vinyl

The most budget-friendly option and close to maintenance-free. Today’s thicker profiles hold their color, shed wind-driven rain, and never need painting – a spring rinse is usually all it takes. Wide color and profile range, without the cost of later repaints.

    Fiber cement

Engineered for climates like ours: it won’t rot, warp, or feed insects. It resists fire and holds paint far longer than wood through freeze-thaw cycles. See James Hardie siding options.

    Fiber cement
    Wood
    Wood

Natural wood siding brings warmth, texture, and timeless character to New England homes. Properly finished wood can last for decades with regular maintenance, while paint or stain refreshes the exterior and helps protect the surface from moisture and weather exposure.

    Composite

Composite siding combines the look of traditional materials with improved durability and lower maintenance. Resistant to moisture, insects, and everyday wear, it provides a long-lasting exterior option that holds its appearance through changing weather conditions.

    Composite
    ACRE
    ACRE

ACRE siding delivers the appearance of real wood with the benefits of a modern, low-maintenance material. It resists moisture, rot, and insects while providing a consistent finish that suits both traditional and contemporary home designs.

    Boral/TruExterior siding

Boral and TruExterior siding options provide the look of traditional wood profiles with strong resistance to moisture, movement, and weather changes. They are a practical choice for homeowners who want classic architectural details with less maintenance over time.

Wellesley Homes and Buildings We Work On

How our approach shifts from one property type to the next? A 1910 colonial, a 1960s split-level, and a small office building each need their own plan for prep, permits, and scheduling. Our siding contractors in Wellesley scope every property on site – and on siding work in Newton next door.

    Historic and Pre-1978 Colonials

    Historic and Pre-1978 Colonials

Older colonials and Victorians deserve matching details. We document the original corner boards, reveals, and trim before anything is removed, follow lead-safe work practices on pre-1978 walls, and plan around historic district review where applicable.
    Mid-Century and Modern Single-Family Homes

    Mid-Century and Modern Single-Family Homes

Ranches, capes, and split-levels often still wear their original wrap. We open a test area first, check sheathing and insulation behind it, then coordinate the work with windows, gutters, and trim so every elevation lines up cleanly.
    Small Commercial Exteriors

    Small Commercial Exteriors

Offices, storefronts, and multi-unit buildings need work that stays out of the way. We stage deliveries and lifts around business hours, keep entrances and parking clear, and carry the permitting and inspections so tenants barely notice us.

We had a great experience with Plum Pro overall. Yuk was very professional and well-organized while working with us on a proposal and contract to fix our deck after it was severely damaged by a fallen tree. He set us up with an accelerated timeline to help us coordinate this project with some of our other repairs, and aside from some weather delays stuck to it pretty well overall.

The best contractor I’ve worked with on any project. Excellent communication throughout the whole process, took time to answer any questions or concerns, and the crew was great. They kept the work site very clean every day. We’re very happy with the results and with the whole process. Highly recommend.

We could not have asked for a better team than Plum ProExteriors for our siding and window project. From start to finish, the process went smoothly. At our initial meeting, Yuk did a great job of explaining all of the different options available for our project. He then provided us with a very detailed estimate that gave us the confidence that there would not be any hidden/surprise costs/fees, which there were not. Once the contract was signed, Yuk did a great job of communicating when the project would start.

Yuk and the crew at Plum ProExteriors did an excellent job installing 7 Pella Architectural double-hung windows in my 1911 Dutch Colonial. Prior to providing a proposal, Yuk measured not once but twice to ensure the windows fit perfectly. Two of three windows were part of a bay window where the frames were no longer perfectly square. None the less, the crew got the windows to fit without issue. They finished with caulking any gaps inside and out for all the windows and finished the job in one day. The crew was clean and neat and even took away the old storm window frames. I already have received compliments on how well the windows look. Their price was fair and I would definitely hire Plum ProExteriors again. Thanks guys!

Yuk is definitely an A+. I felt very comfortable with him and trusted throughout the entire process. We ran into a few issues along the way and that’s to be expected, but Yuk was always available and made good on his promises. If I had to criticize one thing it would be that he doesn’t have a great carpenter for interior finish work, but in fairness he did make me aware that this was not something his crew normally does. Love the end product and the neighbors do too!

We have a full house of windows to replace and we are so happy we found Yuk thanks to a recommendation on a local Facebook group. Yuk quoted the entire job and was transparent in his pricing. Yuk was patient walking us through the process and updating quotes when we decided to start only with the largest and least efficient windows.

I hired Plum ProExteriors based on the quality of work I saw when I came across a renovation project they were doing in the area. I had roof, windows, doors, siding and decking done.I was very impressed with the depth of knowledge Yuk has in his trade. Communication was excellent. He kept me updated on the progress when I wasn’t there. Yuk and his crew worked efficiently and more importantly the quality of work was exceptional.

    Siding Questions Wellesley Homeowners Ask

How do I know if my siding needs to be repaired or replaced?

Isolated cracks or a few loose panels usually call for a repair. Widespread warping, soft sheathing, or peeling paint on interior walls indicates replacement is needed. Explore our siding services to see both paths.

How long does a siding installation project take?

Most homes here run roughly 7-10 working days from setup to final trim, weather permitting. Larger houses, hidden rot repair, or a stretch of rain can push that back, and we flag any schedule change as soon as we see it.

Do you offer financing options for siding projects?

Ask us during your estimate visit. We’ll walk through the payment schedule for your job and tell you exactly which options apply, so you can plan the spend before anything is booked. No pressure either way.

Are you licensed and insured to install siding in Massachusetts?

Yes – every job is run by licensed and insured professionals. Before hiring any siding contractors in Wellesley, ask for a current certificate of insurance and state registration details. We hand ours over up front, without being asked.

Will new siding help lower my heating and cooling costs?

It can. Most of the gain comes from what goes on behind the panels – a continuous weather barrier, sealed seams, and insulated backing that cut drafts through the wall. Older homes usually feel steadier room to room afterward.

Do I need a permit or HOA approval for new siding in Wellesley?

Siding replacement in Wellesley generally requires a building permit, and we file it for you. Homes in a designated historic district or under HOA rules may need design review first, so tell us early, and we build that step into the schedule.
